The Pajama Project 2025

Every night in America, too many children go to sleep uncertain of what tomorrow will bring. This uncertainty compromises health, school performance, and overall well-being.

In 2022, an estimated 17,000 children in New Hampshire, or 7% of the state’s children, lived in poverty. This is an increase from 2021, when the child poverty rate was 4%

Throughout the holiday season, our goal is to provide pajamas, and bedtime books to children of all ages across the southwestern NH region. Our community partners work alongside our regional Head Start Programs to ensure that every child who needs warm pajamas during the holiday has them.

There are a pair of ways you can help this season.

You can spend some time shopping with these children in mind and sponsor a child at our virtual giving tree or you can make a tax-deductible online gift to the project. ;

WHO IS HEAD START?

Head Start is a federally funded program that was created as a way to address the reality that poverty affects the education opportunities of children, especially those between the ages of three and five. From its inception, Head Start has not only provided economically or at-risk children a high quality preschool education, but addresses the emotional, psychological, nutritional, and social needs of their entire family.

About Us

the Project Pajama Story

It is often said that the measure of a communities character is seen in how it cares for the least among them.  A community can never reach its fullest potential unless they are willing to step into the lives of those who need the most immediate help, or who are at the most risk of falling.   It cannot be argued that in any community the child will always be most vunerable.   Over time, the Pajama Project was developed right here in the Monadnock Region as a way to make a difference to the kids right next door.   We invite you to step into our story…
